Our architecture, from server to the Internet, is as follows:
  • Servers are connected to edge Cisco or Foundry switches
  • Each edge switch is connected to two independent core switches
  • Each core switch, besides being connected to each other, is connected to an independent router
  • Our routers are each connected to independent Internet providers, coming into our building through separate areas and through independent underground fiber lines


Whether a switch, router or Internet upstream fails, our network's redundancy recovers within a matter of seconds. In fact, our network's uptime is so high that downtime is only about 10 minutes a year, and that's mostly caused by problems with Internet upstreams or maintenance events.
