Our network and bandwidth
ServerPoint's network is fully redundant on every level. Dual routers, core switches, and more.
There is one important thing that you will enjoy about our network: peace of mind. We deal with
the large so called "Tier 1" providers on a daily basis and their night long maintenance events, crashing
routers, overselling, and more. And when something goes wrong, dealing with them is next to impossible!
It takes hours just for them to take a look at a support ticket! Then, their reply usually is: "Humm. Have you
rebooted your router?" ARGH!
Why go through all that hassle? Whenever we have problems with a provider's uplink, we just shut it down and
let our other providers continue taking care of our Internet transit. When the bad uplink gets fixed,
we just activate that uplink again. And thorughout all of this, your network keeps running, and you
did not have to deal with the large so called "Tier 1" providers. We'll give you access to the Tier 1 providers,
without the hassle.
Our network is multi-homed, meaning that we connect to the Internet via multiple providers using
the BGP protocol.
We guarantee the highest quality in network connectivity and the highest uptime possible. In fact, our
downtime can be measured in under 10 minutes per year. And that's taking into account maintenance! Since
our network is made of two of everything, we only perform maintenance on one device at time, thus, our network
continues running through the remaining active equipment while maintenance is going.
Special configurations
There are many special configurations of server colocation that we can support. Some examples are:
- Blade servers requiring high amounts of power
- Colocation of servers behind a appliance, such as a firewall or load balancer
- Mid/Full size tower colocation available in 1/2 racks and higher
- Colocation of your own racks, AS400 systems, EMC storage, and more
