1. Introduction

In Plain English: We're a web hosting company, not a marketing company. We only collect information needed to provide our services and process payments. We don't sell your data or spam you.

ServerPoint has been in the business since 1998 and proudly provides premium hosting solutions and related products and services to businesses, individuals, non-profit organizations, and others.

ServerPoint is in the business of web hosting, not marketing. We use your personal data for internal purposes only: contact information, billing information, technical information, usage information, and reseller information. The use of this information is mainly to assure quality service for our customers and to collect payment.

Visitor information is also used for internal purposes only. We conduct research with this data to improve our marketing strategy. We will not use any of this information to sell data or spam users, customers, or visitors.

ServerPoint also stores all correspondence between us and our customers for record keeping and historical service reference. ServerPoint does engage computer tracking with the sole purpose of identifying illegal usage or fraudulent behavior of some individuals or organizations that may be trying to operate on our servers.

2. Information We Collect

In Plain English: We collect your name, contact info, and billing details when you sign up. We also automatically collect technical data like your IP address, browser type, and pages you visit on our site.

2.1 Registration Information

Customers are asked to provide certain personal information when they sign up for our Services, including:

  • Name and contact information (address, telephone number, email)
  • Billing information (credit card number, billing address)
  • Technical information about the devices used to access the Services

The personal information collected from Customers during the registration process is used to manage each Customer's account (such as for billing purposes). This information is not shared with third parties, unless specifically stated otherwise or in special circumstances as described in this Policy.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

When you visit our website or use our Services, we may automatically collect:

  • IP address and geographic location
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent on our website
  • Referring website addresses
  • Date and time of access

2.3 Communications

After you have signed up for our Services, we may communicate with you about your account, technical questions, or other matters relating to the Services. These communications are essential to our relationship with you and to our ability to provide you with quality Services. We may maintain information about our communications with you for future reference.

2.4 Email Inquiries

When Visitors or Customers send email inquiries to ServerPoint, the return email address is used to answer the email inquiry we receive. ServerPoint does not use the return email address for any other purpose and never shares it with any third party.

2.5 Customer Surveys

We may periodically conduct both business and individual customer surveys. We encourage our customers to participate in these surveys because they provide us with important information that helps us to improve the types of services we offer and how we provide them to you. Your personal information and responses will remain strictly confidential, even if the survey is conducted by a third party. Participation in our customer surveys is voluntary.

We take the information we receive from individuals responding to our Customer Surveys and combine (or aggregate) it with the responses to create broader, generic responses to the survey questions. We then use the aggregated information to improve the quality of our services to you and to develop new services and products. This aggregated, non-personally identifying information may be shared with third parties.

3. How We Use Your Information

In Plain English: We use your information to provide services, process payments, send important notices, answer your questions, improve our services, and detect fraud. That's it.

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Services
  • Process transactions and send related information
  • Send technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests
  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities
  • Personalize and improve your experience
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Domain Registration

In Plain English: Domain registration info is publicly available through WHOIS searches (ICANN requires this). We offer privacy protection services to hide your personal info from public WHOIS queries.

Domain name registration information is required to be available to the public under ICANN regulations. Since domain name registration information is available to the public, anyone can access it through "WHOIS" searches. The WHOIS database is a publicly accessible database that lists the domain name and contact information of each registrant.

We offer WHOIS privacy protection services that can shield your personal information from public WHOIS queries. Please contact us for more information about this service.

5. Information Sharing

In Plain English: We share your info only with partners needed to provide services (like payment processors and domain registrars). We may also share info if required by law or to prevent fraud. We never sell your personal information.

5.1 Partners and Service Providers

Some of our products and services are offered in conjunction with non-affiliated partners. To provide these products and services, partners may need to collect and maintain personal information. In these instances, we will provide such data to our Partners (e.g., domain registrars, SSL certificate providers, payment processors).

5.2 Aggregated Information

ServerPoint may generate non-identifying and aggregate profiles from personal information (such as the total number, but not the names, of Customers). We may share this aggregated and non-identifying information with partners, advertisers, or other third parties. This information does not identify you personally.

5.3 Online Shopping and Orders

When you purchase products and services from us, you may be asked to provide contact information such as your name, address, email address, phone number, and credit/debit card information. If you complete an order for someone else, you may be asked to provide information about the recipient.

If you order products directly from ServerPoint, we will use the personal information you provide only to process that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that order.

5.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes
  • Respond to governmental or law enforcement requests
  • Protect and defend the rights or property of ServerPoint
  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing
  • Protect the personal safety of users or the public

By the authority of law, if for any reason an investigation by the United States Federal Government (e.g., Federal Bureau of Investigation, Internal Revenue Service, US Department of Defense, US Department of Justice) or by the order of any United States and/or State Court would subpoena information, the information will be disclosed to the appropriate authorities in accordance with US Federal Law and State law depending on the customer's original jurisdiction. ServerPoint will abide by any legislation, past and future, regarding privacy protection by the United States Federal Government.

In Plain English: Our services are for adults (18+) only. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If we discover we have data from a child, we'll delete it.

Protecting children's privacy is especially important to us. It is our policy to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA) and all other applicable laws. ServerPoint does not sell products or services for purchase by children. Customers must be at least 18 years of age to sign up for our services.
