Which CPUs are used in your hypervisors?
Our high-frequency virtual servers are powered by Intel Xeon Gold processors for maximum performance. Other virtual servers run on Intel E5v4 CPUs, including models like the E5-2680v4 and E5-2699A v4, ensuring robust and reliable performance.
How do backups work on the ColossusCloud platform?
When you enroll in a backup plan, we start with a full backup of your virtual server. From then on, incremental backups capture changes to your entire disk. These backups are always accessible, letting you restore your server to a previous state with ease. You can also create one-time backups and save them as templates for deploying new virtual servers.
Is RAM usage shared or dedicated?
Our platform runs on KVM, one of the fastest and most reliable hypervisor technologies. With KVM, your server's RAM is fully dedicated, guaranteeing you always get the full amount you're paying for, without any resource contention.
How fast is my network connection?
All our virtual servers include a full 1Gbps network port, with options for higher capacities in certain cases. However, the perceived speed of your connection depends heavily on network latency, which is primarily affected by distance. To maximize performance, we recommend deploying your virtual server in a location closest to you or your clients. Keep in mind that achieving a single data stream at 1Gbps is rare unless latency between servers is exceptionally low.
Will my virtual servers experience CPU steal?
We maintain CPU usage on our hypervisors at approximately 30% across all cores, ensuring plenty of available capacity to handle bursts or peaks in your virtual server's CPU usage.
How about disk I/O and speed?
Your virtual server's disk runs on our high-performance Ceph clusters, exclusively using solid-state drives. Your data is redundantly replicated across multiple disks and storage hosts, ensuring continuous uptime even in the event of a disk or host failure.
What about bad neighbors?
We understand how common it is for resource overuse by other clients to impact performance in shared environments. At ServerPoint, we proactively manage this by automatically throttling excessive resource usage from other virtual servers, ensuring your virtual servers remain unaffected.
