A decade of Windows VPS hosting: what we've learned

By ServerPoint's Team ·

We’ve been offering Windows VPS hosting for over a decade. In that time we’ve deployed tens of thousands of Windows virtual servers for everything from remote desktops to production web applications.

What a Windows VPS includes

Every Windows VPS comes with full administrator access and a Microsoft license. You can deploy Windows 7, 10, Server 2016, 2019, or 2022 from the Client Portal. Our entry plan starts at $20/month with 2 GB RAM, 50 GB SSD storage, and 2 vCPUs.

We’re a licensed Microsoft partner, so we can also install Microsoft Office, SQL Server, and other Microsoft products on your VPS.

What customers run on Windows VPS

Remote desktop: Access a full Windows desktop from anywhere. Useful for running Windows applications that can’t run on your local machine, or for providing remote access to employees.

Microsoft IIS: Host ASP.NET websites and web applications on Windows VPS with IIS.

Microsoft SQL Server: Run SQL Server databases on a dedicated VPS with guaranteed resources.

Business applications: QuickBooks, MetaTrader, proprietary Windows software that needs to run 24/7.

Performance and hardware

Your Windows VPS runs on our KVM hypervisors with 80+ vCPUs and over 1 TB RAM per host. We don’t oversubscribe, so the resources you pay for are actually available. Choose Gen 3 (Intel Xeon E5 v4 at 2.1 GHz) or Gen 4 (Intel Xeon Gold at 3.5 GHz) depending on your performance needs.

Available everywhere

Windows VPS is available in all six data centers: Santa Clara, Las Vegas, Dallas, Ashburn, Amsterdam, and Singapore. Sign up to deploy yours.
